NSS Annual Special Camp 2024-25

Mangala College of Allied Health Sciences (MCAHS) has conducted NSS Annual Special Camp 2024-25 from 6th to 11th January at Dr. B. R. Ambedkar Residential School, Ulayibettu. With the abetment of Dr. Ganapathi P. Chairman, MGEI and Prof. Pratinja Suhasini G. R. Principal, MCAHS. Which was inaugurated by the Chief Guest, Mr. Harikesh Shetty Nadiguttu, President of Ulayibettu, Grama Panchayath. With the Guests of Honor, Ms. Anitha V. Catherin, Panchayath Development Officer, Ulayibettu Grama Panchayath and Ms. Sumangala S. Principal, Dr. B. R. Ambedkar Residential School, Ulayibettu.

With the presence of Prof. Geetalakshmi, Vice Principal, MCAHS and Mangala College of Para Medical Sciences, Prof. Subhramanya Naik, Principal, Mangala College of Nursing and Principal, Mangala School of Nursing, Dr. Bharath K.H, Principal, Mangala College of Physiotherapy, Dr. Dharmaraja K. Admission Officer and Mr. Vijesh, PRO, Mangala Group of Educational Institutions. The camp was organized by Mr. Mithun Venugopal A. NSS Program Officer, MCAHS, Nidhi Dechamma, NSS Assistant coordinator, MCAHS and student volunteers.

Mangala College of Physiotherapy (MCOPT) has been a part of the camp on 6th January, conducted assessment of BMI, Posture, Endurance level on 260 children of 6th – 9th standard. Dr. Shruthi P. Puthran, Assistant Professor, MCOPT, assessed BMI and Posture with an App – PhysioCode Posture and Dr. Maghna E. Lecturer, MCOPT, assessed endurance level with incremental Shuttle Walk Test and measured SPO₂ pre and post test with Pulse Oximeter. A talk was given by Dr. Shruthi P. Puthran, Assistant Professor, MCOPT, on maintaining healthy body in our daily lives, by educating the children on how to maintain good posture during activities and effect of bad posture on their body. A session of group exercise was also included for maintaining good posture in children, where student volunteers as well as school children took part in.
